Akalites in Enugu visit CP Uzoegbu.
2 min readSunday 15 October 28, 2023,Akalites living in Enugu, the capital city of Enugu State embarked on a familiarization tour to the Umuaka born new Police Commissioner in the state, CP Kanayo Uzoegbu. Several dignitaries from the old Umuaka community were among the entourage that embarked on the august visit to welcome the VIP to Enugu State.
After they all took their sits, as Igbo tradition demands, kola nuts were served and after the kola nuts rituals, a member of the visiting team took the microphone and explained why they came. At the end of his brief speech, the visiting guests introduced themselves one after the other to the police VIP.
The next segment of the event was when the police commissioner took time to address his fellow Akalites. He first introduced himself and welcomed them. He deeply expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture which has metamorphosed into a familiarization visit by his fellow Akalites. He wondered how the visit was successfully organized and carried out within a very short period of time.
On the spiritual side, the new cop in town asked the audience to always remember him in their daily prayers and to ask God to take over the control of Enugh State.
During the vote of thanks, several personalities spoke and offered their prayers. Top among the personalities was the erudite professor of medicine, Kingsley Obioha. The Prof. took the microphone and made his prayers and added that every Akalite in Enugu State is happy about the posting of the new cop in Enugu State. He described the posting of the top cop to Enugu State as a source of pride to all Akalites living in the state and beyond.
Police Commissioner KanayoUzoegbu hails from Ibeakpu Autonomous Community in the Umuaka Municipal Council of Njaba LGA Imo State. He is a University of Port-Harcourt trained holder of Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A., Hons) and a Higher Diploma in Strategic Studies from University of Maiduguri. He also holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
Recently, a popular online newspaper in Nigeria observed that “CP Kanayo is bringing with him a wealth of administrative and operational experiences in policing, garnered over a period of three decades.”
