His parents lost 9 of their children making him and his sister Mrs Clelestina Uruchukwu Onuegbu(neeAnuebu) the only survived children of their parents.

When our father was born, people came to celebrate his birth, but due to the fact that his father Anuebu had lost 9 of his children, lost faith that our father would survive hence he named him ENWEREGEME.

At the age of 10 (ten), Chief Basil Okoro took him to Amaibo where Chief Okoro was a teacher, there our father finished standard six.

He later came back and joined Mr Cosmos Egeonu in Motor business; from there he got a jobin an oil company called Shell where he worked for some years. He later left Shell and got another job I FARASSOL also an oil company where he worked till when the company ended its activities in Nigeria.

Mr Linus Anuebu got married in the year 1964 to his late beautiful wife Eucharia Akugo (Nee Nwagu) from Umuoparaekezie Umuezike Afara in Mbaitoli LGA Imo state at the age of 25 being the only son of his parents. They had their first child Geraldine Ijeoma Anuebu who died at the age of 3. And later gave birth to seven children, 3 boys and 4 girls who are all married.

Our father was a generous, accommodating and kind man who impacted in the life of his immediate and extended family members. He was a devoted Christian of Anglican extraction; he didn’t joke with his church activities. He worshiped at Emmanuel Anglican Church Amiyi Akah. Due to his diligence and zeal to the things of God, his church community gave him a position of Ambassador which he held till death.

Mr Enweregeme Linus Anuebu was a man of his people, a lover of sports. An incident happened in his life during his youthful age. He wrestled with a man called Innocent from Oboro Amurie, he defeated Mr. Innocent and He felt embarrassed and the man slapped him with charm which got him bedridden for some time and that marked the end of wrestling (Ekerengba) in Amiyi Umuaka.

He was the chairman of his kindred (Umudimnawu) for 3 consecutive times due to his leadership prowess and wisdom. He became the only chairman of his kindred who handed over shops allocated to his kindred (Umudimnawu) by Umuaka EbeIri. Our father contributed largely to the development of Amiyi Akah in the 80s; he went to the leader of Amiyi and the then traditional ruler in the name of Chief Okubi and pleaded that the road from Amaenyikwasara to Ama Anuebu, to Ama Okanime Eke to Amaocha Obi should be graded which the leadership of that time obliged him.

Our father lost his beautiful wife Mrs Eucharia Akugo Anuebu (nee Nwagu) at the age of 41 while he was 50years of age. The death of his wife devastated him but being a strong man he was and his in-laws being by his side, he was able to overcome the trauma. Being young at that time and his children still young, his in-laws supported him to remarry but he refused and said that the peace and unity of his family is not negotiable. He was there for us and gave all for our sake till death took him away at the age of 86 years.

We appreciate our mother’s siblings especially De Kenneth and Aunty Comfort for their support and kindness which they showered our father during his sick days.

Your love was massive. Daddy, we will miss you and promise that as you left us in peace and unity, we will uphold the legacy and pass same to our generations to come.

Okeosisialaa, nwokeejiagaikpe, Ofunwaka Umuiri. The curtain is drawn.

From your children.
