Lagos based businessman and the chairman of Uba Umuaka family union Lagos branch, Mazi Goddy Iwuoha has described High Chief Chidi Osuagwu (Appiah) as a direct reincarnation of the late Chief B.U. Okpara, the Akajiaku 1 of Umuaka and a foremost philanthropist in his days. Mazi Iwuoha made the disclosure on Sunday February 22, 2026 during the presentation of Umuaka Times Who is Who Merit Award to High Chief Chidi Appiah by Umuaka Times newspapers.

Chief Iwuoha who also marked his birthday during the event gave the audience a rundown of all the philanthropic activities of High Chief Osuagwu who has received many honours in and outside Umuaka. In his citation, Mazi Iwuoha called upon all Akalites to celebrate High Chief Osuagwu and pray for his continued rise to greatness and more money to his pockets.

In his considered opinion, “High Chief Appiah has done a lot for the people of Umuaka and even other people from other parts of Imo State. Here in Lagos, he has also assisted many people.”

Iwuoha concluded his speech by asking some relevant questions; “What are we going to talk about? Is it his scholarship program, his football tournament sponsorships; is it those he has saved from the clutches of death? Chief B.U. Okpara the Akajiaku 1 of Umuaka has indeed reincarnated in the personality of High Chief Chidi Appiah Osuagwu. We are proud of you our new Akajiaku.”

By the time Mazi Iwuoha ended the historic citation, the guests at the event stood up and clapped for the charity works of the awardee and an Umuaka Times laureate.

In his own acceptance speech, High Chief Osuagwu thanked Umuaka Times for the award and thanked all who came to witness the event. He finally wished a happy birthday to Mazi Goddy Iwuoha who was celebrating his 2026 birthday on the same day and at the same venue.
