All Set for Burial of Ezinne Esther Agumba on May Day.

All arrangements have been concluded for the burial rites of the late Mother Ezinne Esther Agumba (née Udogu), which will take place in her Achara community, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.

A visit by Umuaka Times local affairs correspondents to the family compound a few days ago showed that preparations were in top gear, as the entire residence has taken on a new look. Family members and well-wishers were seen making final efforts to ensure a well-organized and befitting farewell for the deceased woman of substabce and a devoted Christian mother.

The late Ezinne Esther Agumba, matriarch of the Agumba family and wife of the late Mr. Cyprian Agumbaogu of Umuezealaoma village, Achara community, will be laid to rest on Friday, May 1, 2026, which coincides with May Day, a public holiday. The family has called on friends, associates, and well-wishers to attend and celebrate the life of a woman widely regarded as a pillar of her community.

According to a statement signed by one of her sons, Mr. IfeanyiAgumba (PhD), the burial activities will begin with a Service of Songs on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the family compound in Achara. The event is scheduled to commence at 5:00 p.m.

On Friday, May 1, 2026, lying-in-state activities will take place at the same venue from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., allowing friends and sympathizers to pay their final respects.

This will be followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., after which interment will take place immediately at the compound of her late husband, Mr. Cyprian Agumbaogu.

Reception and entertainment of guests will follow shortly after the interment at the same venue.

The burial rites will conclude with a Thanksgiving Mass for the repose of her soul on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Watchman Charismatic Renewal Church, Achara community.

Late Mother Ezinne Esther Agumba, born in 1940, passed on in 2025 at the age of 83. She is remembered as a devoted Christian mother, a respected community leader, and a woman of peace who dedicated her life to the service of God and humanity.
