Jubilation as 35 Adult Learners Graduate from POWER Foundation Program in Obinwanne Umuaka.

There was an atmosphere of joy and celebration in Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community, Imo State, as 35 adult education students of the academic arm of the Papa Onyeze Women Empowerment and Relief (POWER) Foundation successfully graduated from the program. The graduating class comprised 35 students, including 25 men and 10 women, who completed a six-month educational program designed to promote literacy and lifelong learning among adults in the community.

The academic session commenced on January 19, 2026, during which the students received instruction in English Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, and other essential subjects aimed at improving their educational and personal development.

Speaking to Umuaka Times, the Coordinator of the Papa Onyeze Women Empowerment and Relief Foundation, Mrs. Immaculate Uche, expressed delight over the success of the programme. She disclosed that all the students who participated in the exercise performed exceptionally well and graduated with impressive results.

Mrs. Uche further announced that the next academic session of the programme is scheduled to commence on July 15, 2026, and encouraged interested participants to take advantage of the opportunity.

The graduation ceremony, held at Unity Primary School, Obinwanne, attracted several dignitaries and community leaders, including the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ohams; the Traditional Prime Minister of Obinwanne, Chief Celestine Agu; the President-General of the community, Mr. Modestus Obioha; women leaders; and other stakeholders.

The graduates, accompanied by their family members and friends, were visibly excited as they celebrated the successful completion of the program.

In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Uche expressed profound gratitude to God for His grace and faithfulness since the inception of the empowerment initiative in the community. She also paid tribute to His Royal Majesty, Eze Justin Ezeala, for his generosity, kindness, and commitment to humanitarian service. She did not forget to thank and appreciate  appreciate Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative for its continued support and dedication towards the growth and success of the organisation.

Mrs Uche commended members of her staff and colleagues for their unwavering dedication and hard work, noting that their collective efforts contributed significantly to the success of the programme.

Finally, she thanked all supporters, guests, and well-wishers who honoured the invitation to attend the graduation ceremony, praying for God’s abundant blessings upon them.
