Emelong Foundation renovates Riverside Primary School.
1 min readThe Emelong Foundation, an Umuaka Municipal Council based interventionist non-governmental organization, has embarked on yet another massive project at Riverside Primary School Isiozi Umuaka. The project which is to renovate the classroom blocks and create an enabling environment where the children of the community will be proud of and develop deep interest and focus on education for their better future, has since commenced.
When Umuaka Times correspondent in Germany spoke with Chief Emeka Ibegbulem, the Ochiriozuo 1 of Isiozi and the founder and the executive director of the foundation last week, he disclosed that Emelong Foundation has spent close to N20 million at the primary school. “We have really spent a lot and will continue to spend on that school. Remember that we are also involved in weekly feeding program for the pupils.”
When Umuaka Times visited the school last December, it was the day the Foundation was commissioning the borehole water system it had donated to the school. From what Umuaka Times gathered from Chief Ibegbulem, the renovation works at Riverside will soon be completed and another project to uplift the status of the school will commence.
Chief Ibegbulem used the opportunity and appealed to the parents in the community and Umuaka in general to continue to educate their children on the sound and moral instructions they need to excel in life.
