Hon. Chuma Nnaji, former member of Imo State House of Assembly and two time commissioner in the state marked his birthday last week in a complete low key due to the Coronavirus. When Umuaka Times called the prominent politician last week to wish him a happy birthday, he was very pleased as he used the opportunity to appeal to Umuaka people to be prayerful.
While responding to a question from the Imo State correspondent of Umuaka Times on his birthday message to Umuaka people, Hon Nnaji first thanked God for adding another year to his age and went further to appeal to Akalites to remain calm especially under the Covid19 era. He described the Covid19 period as dangerous and emphasized deeply on the need by the people to observe the rules and stay safe.
According to Hon Nnaji, Covid 19 is a phase that will later be a thing of the past. “God who saved us during the war will surely do so again because Covid19 cannot compare what we all saw during the civil war.”
On the state of insecurity that is witnessed across the nation today, he appealed to everyone to be vigilant and be his brother’s keeper. He stressed the need to institutionalize community policing as a viable security apparatus.”The influx of Fulani herdsmen is worrisome. Our people should remain faithful, law abiding and never attack anybody.”
