Emulate Anambra system of politics. Chief John Anozie.

2 min read

Philanthropist, top community leader and the Akuwudike 1 of Amazano, Chief John Dike Anozie has condemned in outright terms, the “money politics” played in Imo State by Imo citizens and politicians. Speaking over the weekend in a brief interview with Umuaka Times from his base in America, Chief Anozie seriously lamented that the crop of politicians that stands for elective offices in Imo State, especially for governorship elections cannot even pass nominations from their political parties if they were to be Anambra State citizens. “Anambra has completely jettisoned “money politics” and her purged herself of selfish politicians masquerading as democrats.”

Chief Anozie questioned why the only qualification one needed to become a governor in Imo State is to be recognized as a moneybag. “We no longer value character, integrity and the ability to manage public funds.” The American based medical scientist and businessman asked Imolites to compare the state and Anambra State and draw the boarders by themselves. He noted that Anambra State has the highest number of billionaires in the country and still gets it right in terms of her governorship elections. In his own political analysis, Chief Anozie told Umuaka Times that Anambra looks beyond money and try to diagnose what the public office seeker has to bring on the table in terms of the provision of social amenities, quality education and more.

On his final note, he warned that if Imo State fails to adjust her political roadmap in terms of elections come 2023, “Imo State will continue to be a laughing stock in Nigeria.”
