Eze I.O.U Ikejiofor rewards noble citizens with merit awards.

December 29, 2022 was indeed an amazing day in the ancient Amandugba town of Isu LGA Imo State. The event which was tagged Igu Afo (Ofala)2022 brought together the illustrious sons and daughters of the incredible Amandugba town together as they all came out and celebrated with their Eze I.O.U Ikejiofor.

Several factors which contributed to the immeasurable success of the event are so numerous to mention. It can be recalled that the Ofala event was scheduled to hold on December 29, 2021 but due to some factors that deeply bothered on insecurity, it was shifted to 2022 on the same date.


High profile woman of substance and the Onosolueze N’ Obi 1 of Amandugba Ancient Kingdom Chief/ Attorney Joy Nwadike who is also the chairman of the Fundraising Committee predicted it to Umuaka Times a couple of weeks ago that the Amandugba Ofala 2022 would be an instant hit which will leave memorable marks in the minds of the people in the entire Imo State.

The Ofala indeed became an instant hit when HRH Eze Innocent Ikejiofor, the Igwe Gbajiriegbe the 4th of Amandugba and the Agbodidi Isu gburugburu, conferred highly prestigious merit awards on some deserving citizens of the community. The individuals who received these awards had done several things in the past for the growth of the community.

According to a press statement issued by the palace clerk, Chief Oguh Celestine Ifeanyi, (Aririerimba) the recipients are, Chief Kenneth Chukwurah – Ishi Iyi Ndugba, Chief Sir Martins Ejiogu- Ochendo, Engr Sir Linus Ezeghara, Nze na Ozo Emecheta Patrick S. – Omeka Agu/ Ochiri Ozuoo, Mr Ebuka Uzoagba, ) Mr Peter Oledibe- Oputa Global, Chief Emeka Ikejiofor – Iheadikanwanne and Chief Nwadike Emeka G S- Okaomee.

Others are Comr. Phillip Ajoko- Onye Army, Dr Stella Mba – Nee Ikejiofor, Chief Barr. Joy Chinwe Nwadike- Onosolueze N’Obi and Chief/ Professor Okechukwu Mbagwu.- Udo ka Nma.

The awardees also used the opportunity and thanked the royal father and the entire community for the honour. They pledged to continue supporting the community in any way they can. Every awardee made a donation to support the growth of the community.

The event in Amandugba was indeed something to remember.
