2 min read

Last week, the traditional ruler of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community, HRM Eze Justin Uzoma Ezeala, Eze Nwanne 1 of Obinwanne Umuaka in his usual commitment towards securing his community Obinwanne, donated a Toyota Hilux patrol van to the community to strengthen security activities in the area. This rare gift was announced and presented to the community last week at the Eze Nwanne Royal Palace after the royal father and other illustrious sons of the community had previously donated 8 motorcycles, walkie-talkies and other security gadgets to the community.

In his message to the people of Obinwanne and Umuaka Municipal Council in general, the royal father made a passionate appeal to the sons and daughters of Umuaka to support the security arrangements in their different communities in this era of insecurity.

During the presentation of the patrol van to the Obinwanne community, the Onowu of Obinwanne, Chief Celestine Agu, the Ekwembiriba of Umuaka Municipal Council extolled the virtues of the royal father and thanked God Almighty for giving them a leader like Eze Justin Ezeala. He used the opportunity and assured the people that the patrol van will strictly serve its purpose to the benefit of the community.

Immediately the presentation came to an end, Umuaka Times gathered that the vehicle embarked on its first patrol assignment with some security officials who joined in the patrol to the admiration of the people who trooped out on the streets of Obinwanne to celebrate the gesture.

It can be recalled that the Obinwanne Royal Father and his community won the following awards from Umuaka Times for the year 2020: Imo State Royal Father of the Year, for his ability to initiate positive leadership and security conscious intervention programs aimed at restoring order and dignity in Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community. Eze Justin Ezeala has used his personal fortune to build the capacity of several Obinwanne youths and embarked on sustainable empowerment programs for a number of low income earners in Obinwanne.

Most Organized Autonomous Community of the Year award was also won by Obinwanne Autonomous Community because of her social and structural administrations among the youths, women, the elderly and students in such a way that it has been able to create a healthy competition aimed towards greater developments and successes.

The Most Peaceful Autonomous Community of the Year award also went to Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community for being the only autonomous community in Umuaka that has maintained adequate security network with no ezeship and autonomous community instigated crisis.
