Eze Ken Uzoho confers chieftaincy title on Festus Iwuamanam

2 min read

May 29 is a remarkable day in the history of Nigerian democracy and politics. It was on this day in 1999 that the military government in Nigeria handed over the staff of office to a democratically elected government after 25 years of military jackbootism. To Mr Okwudili Facestus Iwuamanam, the date means a lot to him and the entire Iwuamanam family as well as to the extension of Acharaji Autonomous Community in Umuaka. Festus Iwuamanam, a Ghanaian based businessman was on this eventful day, May 29 2021, conferred with a chieftaincy title by His Royal Highness, Eze Ken Uzoho, the Achara 1 of Acharaji Umuaka Autonomous Community Njaba LGA Imo State.

The event which started by midday at the palace of the royal father, had in attendance, top community leaders and Acharaji Council of Chiefs. When the guests had gathered in the palace, the royal father, Eze Ken Uzoho told the audience that the event which was being marked, was the institutionalization (igbukwa agada) of the chieftaincy title which was previously held by the father of the celebrator, late Chief Sabastine Egwuatuonwu Iwuamanam.

In his words, the royal father told the guests, “As you all know why we are here today, it is important to let you understand also that we are conferring this title to Mr Festus Iwuamanam today because his elder brother, Mr Kelvin Iwuamanam willingly donated the chieftaincy position to his younger brother.

The reason for this offer according to the royal father was that Kelvin told the Council of Chiefs that he is a pastor and may most likely climb higher. That he can’t be taking the higher positions in Church and the community while his younger brother will have none. This position was collaborated by Kelvin Iwuamanam himself in a brief interview with Umuaka Times.

Eze Ken Uzoho warned the entire people of Acharaji never to put asunder in the cordial agreement between the two brothers who have shown and demonstrated love for each other.

After the speech by the royal father, Mr Facestus Okwudili Iwuamanam was then conferred with the Igwe Osinachi the Second of Acharaji. After the conferment of the whole guests then moved to the family house of the Iwuamanas for refreshments.
