How rain almost obstructed the wakes night.

1 min read

The night of Wednesday March 24, 2021 was the night the Oguikes and their in-law Dr Austin have prepared for the wake keep of the late Mrs Dorothy Oguike who was to be buried the following day. AS the night drew by, mourners and sympathizers started to arrive at the large Oguike family compound. Youths, Christians and others were busy trying to fine tune the  wake keep. Umuaka Times reporter who witnessed the event gathered that there were several musical groups present to entertain the guests that same night. Groups like cultural dancers, Gateway Entertainment Band and the musical group of Odozo Obodo Church were all getting ready to display and entertain the people with sweet Christian songs, all of a sudden came the rain.

Although the live bands have played some gospel songs before the rain started but they did not play for long. As the rain came, those who were still at their various homes trying to prepare for the event, had to either staay at home or come very late. Many other guests who were present were also affected by the rain and most of them took their leave when the rain stopped.

Despite all the obstruction from the rain, the musical groups including the one from Odozo Obodo Church did their best to thrill the people with highly danceable Christian songs.
