2 min read

The motorcade that brought the corpse of the late Mrs Dorothy Oguike to Umuaka from Owerri where her remains were deposited arrived Umuaka Main Market  around 9 O’ clock in the morning. Before heading to Uba village to the Oguike family. They made a brief stop at Ime Afor  Market. While at Ime Afor, market women, shop owners and commercial motorcycle riders all came out to catch a glimpse of the woman who has been described as humane and caring at certain quarters.

The journey to the Oguike family picked up again the moment the brief stop at Ime Afor was over.  As the motorcade arrived  its destination, many people from several parts of the state and country were already waiting to receive the very important corpse. In few minutes time, the masters of the ceremony announced that it was time for people to visit the lying in state room and pay their last respect to the late Mrs Dorothy Oguike.

First to pay their last respect was the Oguike family members. This was done after the Amadike family members had gone into the house to confirm if indeed the corpse of the dead woman was truly the corpse of their sister. They affirmed that it was indeed their sister.

The moment the Oguikes were done, other family relations, friends and well wishers took their turn also. Shortly after this, the casket was brought out for the graveside sermon. The Bishop of the Odozi Obodo Church who preached, touched a lot of issues concerning life and death, righteousness and sin. He appealed to the people to always remember God and do as the Bible instructs so as to partake in the Kingdom of God at last. He extolled the virtues of the woman and appealed to the family she left behind to emulate her footsteps.

Shortly after the sermon, the journey of life ended for 83 year old Mrs Dorothy Oguike. She was interred in peace according to Christian rites.

May her soul rest in peace.
