Ikenna Duru congratulates Amakor over her football victory.

The donors of Akunaepuome Unity Cup Chief and Lolo Fortune Ikenna Duru have congratulated the Net Breakers of Amakor over her football victory against the Highlanders of Uba which took place on Sunday January 8, 2023 at Njaba Stadium Umuaka. It can be recalled that the two football clubs played the finals of the Akunepuome Unity Cup where the Warriors of Amakor defeated the Highlanders of Uba with a lone goal.
The following day being Monday, 9 January 2023, Umuaka Times paid an official visit to the country home of Dr Ikenna Duru, an American based world class pharmacist, businessman and philanthropist, the couple in a brief interview with Umuaka Times congratulated the Amakor Net Breakers FC on their victory.
Dr Duru who is a multi chieftaincy title holder on behalf of his wife, told Umuaka Times that what he believed in and what he wanted to project is simply the best in football games. “I am not interested in the village that emerges as the overall winner but my interests only lies on the best and Amakor Net Breakers has proved that to us that they are really the best”.
While speaking on the football tournament, Umuaka Times reminded him that Umuaka women are now asking for female football competition as well, Chief Duru disclosed that he has heard that before and would soon think about it. He further told Umuaka Times that Chiamaka Okwuchukwu visited her on the same day and made that request also. He has promised to think about the request.
On what inspires him to be doing all he is doing in sports, Chief Duru expressed his love for football and determination to showcase the best talents in Umuaka through football and other sporting activities. He assured Umuaka Times that he would continue to do the best he can in terms of sports and other activities in order to develop and encourage new talents.
