2 min read

High profile Akalite and US based businessman and pharmacist, Chief Ikenna Duru has identified the deep disappointment Nigerians have been having over their country as a fallout of leadership failures in the last 4 decades and more. Chief Duru who was speaking with Umuaka Times correspondent in America last week, seriously complained that bad leadership has turned the country into a holistic disaster, thereby making patriotism sound injurious to the people. Hear him; “In my view, I believe our dear country would have been one of the greatest countries in the world. Unfortunately, due to bad leadership, the reverse bears the case”.

The pharmacist who is a well-known philanthropist and popularly addressed as Enyioha Njaba Gburu Gburu among many other chieftaincy titles, sadly disclosed to Umuaka Times how corruption and bad leadership have come to destroy the country in the comity of nations. “Following the recent development, one can attest that many Nigerians are frustrated about their lives, disappointed in their country and angry at their leaders, especially, the just concluded political electoral dispensation”.

Duru, an ex-footballer and a sports lover went ahead and gave some pieces of advice to the Nigerian citizens, especially Akalites and Obidients as well as those living outside the country. “My humble advice to all Akalites and all obedient Nigerians is to continue to remain law abiding, resilient, steadfast, dutifully firm and prayerful.

“More importantly, I think that the most important priority for our elected leaders today is to restore confidence in our social, economic and political system for many Nigerians whose lack of confidence has become very obvious.”

Chief Ikenna Duru used the opportunity and asked God to continue to bless and protect the ordinary Nigerians. “May the good Lord continue to bless all Nigerians and save us from this political servitude, now and forever, amen.”
