The US based parents of international football stars, Bright Dike, Courtney Dike and Daryl Dike Mr and Mrs Vincent and Jacinta Dike have made a donation of N1,000,000 for Umuisii women of Umuezeala Uba Umuaka. This is not the first time the Dike couple was making such donations to their people, according to what Umuaka Times reporter gathered, the Dikes also made a donation to support the security situation in Umuisii and a host of other donations.

The one million Naira donation which was made during the time of cash scarcity across the whole country reached its nominated account on time but it was very difficult to pull out the money from the UBA account it was sent to due to the deep financial crisis the country faced then. Umuaka Times, an organization which handled the project then summoned some Umuisii youths and women leaders and a prompt decision was taken which was to buy food items with the money and share among the women. Thisd was promptly done on a record time.

The chairlady of Umuisii women, Mrs Bob Madu was invited alongside with her secretary Mrs Amakodike to inspect the food items before the sharing and distribution began. After their inspections, they thanked the Dike couple and asked God to continue to bless them. They then gave their approval for the food items to be shared.

Hours later, still on a Monday sit-at-home being 21 March 2023, all efforts were put in shape for effective sharing and distribution. In order to make sure that no Umuisii woman was left out, the food items which comprised of 20 bags of rice, 10 bags of sachet tomatoes, 3 cartons of vegetable oil, 3 bags of salt and 15 cartons of noodles were effectively handled by Umuaka Times and some selected youths. After all the items were bagged equally among all the Umuisii kitchens in and within Imo State, a vehicle was hired which went round the whole Umuisii community and entered into all the compounds and dropped theirs with them. Each family the Umuaka Times team entered prayed for the couple and thanked them a lot.

While holding talks with Umuaka Times after the successful distribution of the food items, Mr Vin Dike was asked why he and his wife did that for the women. Hear him: “The situation in our country is grave and hard for everyone. My wife I thought we need to do the little we can now with what we have and hope by God’s grace we can do better in future.”

Also Mrs Jacinta Dike also expressed her feelings: “We were very ecstatic and shouted “Goal accomplished”. We are as happy as you all are at home.”
