Oghu Umuduruorji held amidst heavy rainfall.

The much awaited Oghu Umuduruorji Acharaji has come and gone after the sons and daughters of Omuduruorji Achara and their friends and well-wishers trooped out in their thousands to witness the great oghu festival which was held on Saturday July 29, 2023.
Despite the heavy preparations and organization that trailed the event, heavy downpour of the day almost marred the historic event but Umuduruorji community resisted the rain with faith and still went on and held the dance.
As captured in the announcement, several top oghu dancers across Umuaka community thrilled the audience with their latest dance styles.
The highest point of the event was when the Nwa Onye Ure Umuduruorji came out at the event to bless Umuduruorji people. The Nwa Onye Ure which came out with Nwa Okwa Umuduruorji sat together at the oghu arena during the blessing ritual. It was the Nwa Okwa Umuduruorji that used a chaplet, a mini Bible and olive oil and pronounced blessings on Umuduruorji sons and daughters.
The most interesting thing about the Oghu Umuduruorji is that it is held in every 20 years according to what Umuaka Times was told by the organizers of the event. By that counting, the next year of the event will be by 2043 unless the pattern is changed.
