Eze Nwanne commends Unity Primary School for a successful inter-house sports.

His Royal Majesty, Eze Justin Uzoma Ezeala (Ezenwanne I of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community), has commended the management, staff, pupils, parents, sponsors, and guests who contributed to the successful hosting of the 2026 Inter-House Sports competition of Unity Primary School, Obinwanne. Speaking in a brief interview with Umuaka Times shortly after receiving reports from the event, the monarch expressed satisfaction with the peaceful, colourful, and well-organized nature of the sports festival held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the school playground.

The royal father, who was unable to attend the event in person and was represented by Chief Celestine Agu (Ekwembiriba Umuaka) and the Traditional Prime Minister of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community, praised the school authorities for successfully organizing an event that promoted sportsmanship, unity, and youth development.
“I am delighted to learn that the 2026 Inter-House Sports competition was a huge success,” Eze Ezeala told Umuaka Times. “I sincerely thank the management of Unity Primary School, the academic and non-academic staff, the pupils, parents, and every member of our community who contributed to making the event memorable.”
The monarch also paid tribute to the distinguished personalities who honoured the occasion, including the chairman of the occasion, Chief Julius Ukasoanya (Mmirioma I of Obinwanne); Engineer Modestus Obioha, President-General of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community; Chief Celestine Agu (Ekwembiriba Umuaka); Sir Julius Igboeche; Chief Festus Nnadi (Omeudo); Chief Emeka Nwariwe and his entourage; Chief Alex Agwubuo, who represented Chief Pedro Odoemenam; Chief Kenneth Nnamuka (Tinubu); traditional title holders, community leaders, and numerous friends of the school.

According to the royal father, the large turnout and active participation of stakeholders demonstrated the community’s commitment to education and the development of young people.
“The reports I received indicate that the pupils performed exceptionally well, from the welcome song to the march-past, cultural dances, and sporting events. Such activities help to build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership among our children. I commend everyone involved,” he said.
Eze Ezeala also congratulated the six participating houses made up of White House, Yellow House, Red House, Purple House, Green House, and Blue House for their spirited participation and healthy competition throughout the event.

Reacting to the results, the monarch congratulated Blue House, named after Chief Pedro Odoemenam (Ishiehi), for emerging winner of the march-past competition, while Green House, named after Don Godwin C. Eziama, clinched the overall championship trophy after excelling in the field and track events.
“I warmly congratulate Blue House on their march-past victory and Green House on winning the overall championship. Their achievements are worthy of celebration and should inspire other pupils to strive for excellence,” he stated.
The traditional ruler further extended his congratulations to all individual winners and participants who distinguished themselves during the competition.
The monarch described the successful hosting of the sports festival as another indication that Unity Primary School remains committed to the holistic development of its pupils through academics, sports, cultural activities, and community engagement. He expressed optimism that future editions of the Inter-House Sports competition would be even bigger and more successful, while calling on parents, community leaders, and well-meaning individuals to continue supporting the school.
