Akalites, global rock fans, mourn Meat Leaf.

Akalites and other rock music fans all over the world were on January 20, 2022 thrown into a deep mourning after the celebrity website TMZ announced the death of global icon and hard rock music mastereo Meat Loaf. From what Umuaka Times correspondant in America gathered, the US rockstar who was born Michael Lee Aday on September 27, 1947 in Dallas, Texas, U.S.died on January 20, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S. from complications arising from Covid19. He was 74 years old.
Meat Loaf was known as a real hardliner during his lifetime especially when told to obey some unusual rules. During the Covid19 lockdown, he reportedly vowed that he would rather die than to face lockdown. It is still unknown till date if Meat Loaf took Covid19 vaccine or not before his death.
On his music career, it was reported that more than 65 million copies of his albums were sold worldwide from 1977 till his death last month. Already his death has also sparked up posthumous sales that also runs into millions.
After the announcement was made by TMZ, celebrities “floaded” the internet with tributes in his honour. According to Hollywoodlife.com, “Meat Loaf had an incredible impact, not only on his fans, but on fellow celebrities who knew and loved him, as well. The legendary entertainer died on Jan. 20, and social media was full of tributes following his passing.” Susan Sarandon, Boy George, Cher, former US president Donald Trump, Jimmy Kimmel and more wrote different tributes over his death.

On Umuaka level, Mr Chinedu Iwudike, a US based Akalite, lamented that Meat Loaf never told his fans that he “would not do before” his death.
Kano based legal luminary, Chief Marcel Duru in a private message to Umuaka Times over the death of Meat Loaf wrote. “Another legend has gone home. I have been blasting this song since I heard that he has taken his massive talent to another plane where he may find eternal peace! Great guy, like all great souls, he operated between sanity and insanity and in the process he gave the best in him! Yea, he will go down as one of the best rock legends. RIP.”

Jackie who lives in UK after hearing the death of the guy shared a video of his concert in Umuaka Times Institute and wrote. “A legend indeed. Enjoy Meat Loaf-I would do anything for love.” As Bob Marley puts it, “When one door closes another door opens.” The chapter of Meat Loaf has closed lets wait for more doors to open for the music world. Rest in peace Meat Loaf.
