1 min read

The YPP Imo House of Assembly candidate for Njaba LGA, Hon Kingsley Obi Odoemenem has expressed his deep disappointment over the conduct of the March 18, 2023 general elections across the country. Hon Odoemenem who spoke with Umuaka Times last week when the newspaper called on him few days after the election, condemned in outright terms, the idea of alleged vote buying by some candidates and their party agents during the exercise.

Hon Odoemenem accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of engaging in what he described as fraudulent activities to favour some candidates.

On his own result which INEC put him on the forth position, Obi dismissed the INEC figure of 570 in the entire Njaba LGA and wondered why he would secure that number because according to him, he won in his village and in his polling unit and took second in Amiyi community.

On the role played by the people of Njaba, Hon KO Odoemenem had this to say. “You see, I don’t have problem with APC in particular, I am ashamed of Niaba people who were asking for money for them to cast their votes because of N3000 and at the same time, I reject the result by INEC because it is not the actual result.”

For now, it is not clear if Hon Odoemenem would challenge the result of the election in court because his team is still studying the results and the entire process.
