A London-based socialite and high profile Akalite, Miss ObyEzeigbo, has called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to put aside tribal, religious and sectional sentiments ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying competence and character should determine the next president of the country. In a statement made available to Umuaka Times on Tuesday last week, Miss Ezeigbo threw her weight behind former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, describing him as the leader Nigeria needs to move “from consumption to production.”

According to her, Nigeria’s current challenges require a leader with a proven record of prudence, accountability and people-centered governance.

“2027 is not about tribe or church or mosque. It is about our children’s future. We must jettison tribalism, religion and lies and vote for competence,” she disclosed in the press statement to Umuaka Times correspondents in London.

In her critical assessment, Ezeigbo described Peter Obi as a man of honour who represents a new Nigeria. A Nigeria where every naira must work. A Nigeria that invests in education, health, and in the small businesses that employ our youths.”

In the press statement, Miss Ezeigbo outlined what she called Obi’s marketable edge over other contenders: 1. Economic Discipline: “From cutting the cost of governance to supporting MSMEs, Obi’s message of production over consumption is what will create jobs and grow our economy.”

  1. Integrity and Accountability: “He governed Anambra with savings and transparency. Nigerians deserve a leader who leads by example.”
  2. Youth and Digital Future: “He understands the hustle of young Nigerians. His focus on digital skills, startups and education will move our youths from hustle to enterprise.”
  3. Security and Unity: “He has consistently preached one Nigeria. With state policing and respect for the rule of law, we can tackle insecurity and build trust across all regions.”
  4. Global Credibility: “The world will respect Nigeria again under Obi. His reputation will attract investment and bring our people in the diaspora home to build.”

Miss Ezeigbo urged Nigerians in the UK, US, Canada, Asia and across Africa to mobilize and sensitize voters ahead of 2027 to ensure that Peter Obi wins the election.

“The slogan must be simple: Production Not Consumption. The Possible Nigeria. It is possible if we vote with our conscience and not with sentiment,” she added.

She concluded by calling on media organizations and community leaders to prioritize issue-based campaigns over propaganda.

“Let us reject lies. Let us reject division. Let us vote for the Nigeria we all dream of,” she concluded.
