1 min readThe Emelong Foundation, a community based organization which empowers children and women in Umuaka, last week took time to empower nursing mothers in the whole of Umuaka community. The event which was held at the premises of Riverside Primary School Isiozi, had in attendance some officials of the foundation and mothers and their babies.
When Umuaka Times arrived at the event centre, there was a deep evidence of baby food power milk and some children’s clothes. According to what Umuaka Times gathered, each village in the community sent in 5 nursing mothers and there were also some others who came from nowhere and still benefitted.
Chief Emeka Ibegbulem, Founder, Emelong Foundation.
In an interview with the founder and the Executive Director of the foundation, Chief Chukwuemeka Ibegbulem, he told the newspaper that the foundation had not specifically empowered nursing mothers since inception. This, according to him was to cease the opportunity to also extend the hand of love and care of the foundation to the nursing mothers and their babies.
It will be recalled that a couple of weeks ago, the foundation commissioned the borehole water project at the same venue. Some women who spoke with Umuaka Times prayed for the success and long life of the boss of the foundation, Chief Emeka Ibegbulem who also fed the school children that same day.
