A famous philanthropist and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Imo State chapter, Chief Chris Akuzuruahu, the Eze Mmuo of Igboland, has called on the people of Njaba Local Government Area and the entire Nkwerre, Isu, Njaba and Nwangele Federal Constituency otherwise known as NINN to retain their current political office representatives across all levels in the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Umuaka Times, the Umuaka-born politician who is also a patron of several socio-cultural organizations in Igboland and an international businessman based his appeal on what he described as the “visible efforts and growing impact” of the serving office holders.
Chief Eze Mmuo particularly highlighted the performance of Ozioma Bennett Ebonine, the member representing Njaba State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly. According to him, the lawmaker has demonstrated commitment to grassroots development through a series of empowerment initiatives.
He noted that Ebonine organized skills acquisition programs for women, with no fewer than 46 beneficiaries trained and equipped to become financially independent. He added that the lawmaker also extended similar interventions to youths by providing vocational training, including tailoring, alongside the distribution of sewing machines to enable beneficiaries establish small businesses.
“These efforts are not one-off programs,” Eze Mmuo stated, emphasizing that the lawmaker has sustained empowerment initiatives across the constituency. He further pointed out that Ebonine’s role as Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Rural Development places him in a strategic position to influence policies that directly affect rural infrastructure and housing.
At the federal level, Chief Eze Mmuo commended Chief Harrison Nwadike, who represents Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, for sponsoring a constitutional amendment bill aimed at creating additional constituencies to ensure fair representation. He described the move as a “bold legislative step” toward equity within the constituency.
Although noting that Nwadike’s tenure is still developing, he maintained that the lawmaker has shown commitment to advocacy for balanced representation and inclusive governance.
Summing up his position, Chief Eze Mmuo urged voters to prioritize continuity and performance.
“Leadership is a continuum. When you see people making efforts, empowering the grassroots, and pushing for fair representation, the best decision is to encourage them to do more by giving them another opportunity,” he said.
He concluded by calling on the people of Njaba and NINN to remain united and make informed decisions that will sustain development and effective representation across all tiers of government.
